ASH

One word, shadow. When a man's heart is filled with sorrow and pierced by treachery, it burns up and dies. A vast, dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse. A wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, a bringer of peace, someone to strike fear into the vile hearts of the same people which created him. The battle between good and evil has waged for ages. Against an army of shadows comes a dark warrior, a figure as dark gray as the shadows themselves. He has a voice of silence and a mission of justice. This is Ash

ANGEL

Probably the shortest half-giant you will ever see, Angel found the Land of the Eagle completely by accident while looking for a world to rule one day. There she met Erkki, who said to her, 'Come with me.' And she did.

CIMORENE

A genuine feeling of love and peace among nature's creations encouraged this young girl to become a druid; named after a legendary Queen named Cimorene, this girl carries the sharp wits and quick thinking displayed by the former, but, unlike the Queen Cimorene, this girl displays a uniquely naivete in matters of dealing with people. However, luck smiled upon this golden haired, green eyed girl, and she was befriended by the cleric Risiko, saving her from an unbecoming situation of being caught between her love of nature and her fear of people. Slowly, as she gains experience in the humanoid world, she applies her abilites of calling upon the forces of nature to assist her in her quest for understanding and peace.

CLAUDIA

Claudia was born into the world a merry, good-spirited child. Her grey eyes glittered brightly as she laughed up at the beautiful elven faces that peered into her cradle. When she clapped her hands with joy, tiny sparks shot around the room, and the elves nodded and murmured amongst themselves. This was truly a blessed child, they agreed, and should be treated with great love and care. She was raised to feel happy and secure, and her magic abilities were looked on with great pride. When at last she was ready to strike out on her own, her mother cried and hugged her as though they would never again meet. Troubled by her mother's reaction, she asked 'Why do you cry?' Her mother then told her of a dream she had. In this dream, a small elven child lay in its cradle, its grey eyes laughing up at the sky. Suddenly the sun disappeared and shadows began creeping in around the cradle, and the child became silent, never to laugh or clap again. And Claudia wept at her mother's dream and promised she would never forget how to smile or laugh, and that if shadows came to silence her, she would destroy them. And then she said goodbye.

GRIMJACK

Very little is known of this loner, save that those he once called 'Friend' are dead.

GASPODE

Gaspode was born in a dark alley in the drow city. The only son of two common drow, he was much loved and nurtured, although they were as poor as dirt. At the age of 17, he found religion, and was not surprised to discover that HIS particular God did not have eight legs. He packed his meager belongings and moved to the city of Midgaard. A frequent visitor of the library, Gaspode was soon befriended by a janitor, who showed him the ways of magic. He found the magic useful in his adventuring but he aspired to be a knight. He sought out the great knight Irrylath who became his friend and mentor, and finally realized his dream. As a knight, Gaspode travels far and wide, always trusting in his gods to protect him. He sometimes feels it his duty to wipe out the drow city, leaving only the commoners alive.

IRRYLATH

At the age of 17, he realized that the constant fighting within the first house of the Drow kingdom was not to his liking. He found his way through the Underdark, searching for somewhere where he could belong. After wandering through caves full of bugbears, he finally found himself lost, hurt, blinded by the daylight and alone in the forest west of Midgaard. He prayed then to the Goddess Eilistraee for guidance, and had a vision. The Goddess took him by the hand, led him to a strange city and to a man named Zantar. She instructed Zantar to teach Irrylath the ways of the warrior. As she left the young drow, she made him promise that he would never forget how it felt to be young and alone. Since then, Irrylath has dedicated his life to being as fair, as helpful, and as kind as possible. While his drow temper occasionally erupts into violence, he has kept his word for the most part, and will help anyone who asks. (But abandon anyone who demands.)

RISIKO

"The Child without Parents" was the first name this woman learned to respond to; the earlier years of her life were spent wandering with her younger sister through alleyways, picking through scraps and fighting for places to sleep. By the will of Fate she was taken in by mages, who cared for her and taught her everything she knows now. In between her lessons of history and swordplay, she was told of the legends of the kingdom G'danya, and of the fearless swordswoman, Princess Risiko. Enchanted by the very idea of a powerful magic-casting warrior, she changed her name to Risiko and set herself to try to follow the path Risiko would take in life; a path so far and distant from the poverty and desperate life to which she was accustomed. Leaving her caretakers upon arrival of the Shadow Emperor (for fear she would only further their danger), Risiko severed her ties to them by beginning the task of becoming a holy warrior, a healer of sorts; with her cleric brethren she learned the need to understand one's fellow person, and to aid them in their times of need; yet, in all that she does, she stands alone, and rarely will ask or accept an offer of help. This commanding woman with eyes the color of fire-garnets and long silver hair plaited and wound tightly against her head trusts few, and holds even fewer close. To her, allies are important, and enemies to be wary of, just as loyalty is a rare treat, and disloyalty a given. Fear her, hate her, love her with a passion--but never underestimate her.

SAMUS

With cool eyes of citrine, this commanding young woman often brings to mind pictures of her in full-armor, carrying some unknown weapon, a type that will fire beams of light at people, light that will incinerate them into oblivion... But often reality is far from people's imaginations, and in this case, it's especially so. A kind-hearted woman, she often takes pity upon those in need--but be careful, if you cross her path in some way, shape, or form, her vengeance is equally pure.

SCORPIO

Some may call this woman shy, but given her name, it's most likely wrong. The mystic and resident magic user of the clan Zodiac, she often lurks in the background, surfacing when times call her forth to answer the needs of her clan. Some say she has eyes of blood, and hair of the mulberry, but none are certain, for few have caught a glimpse of this fair and mysterious girl.

ERKKI

Who's Erkki?

IAGO

Black as the night is this dreaded assassin. There are none more treacherous, none more evil than this dark rogue. Death is his calling card.

AKOO

A bard of ages, Akoo has wandered the realms of many different worlds. His stories and songs reflect the glory or downfall of many a legend. He has a love for lore, and wanders the world in search of it. If he cannot find it, he simply makes some himself by partaking a quest of perilous odds. His maps have been shared for all to see, and he spends a great deal of time exploring and updating them.

MISERY

A dark figure if ever there was one. Her elven heritage is clouded in blood. Nobody can remember her ever speaking, so it is impossible to find out her past from her. Rumors from others say that her life has been nothing but constant agony and tragedy. Famyn is her twin and closest friend. She spends most of her time wandering with Akoo, but she is known to help anyone who asks, no matter what their background. Neutrality seems to be her only clear characteristic.

SASKIA

Saskia was once a spirit existing in the shadowy mists of unreality. She existed in a diffused state encompassed in ever swirling vapors of color, sound, and the wavering echoes of thoughts and Dreams carried on currents from the realms of mortals and gods. Ash intrigued by tenuous spark, called to her, bringing her forth from her transcendent state. With his love he gave her the stability to possess a solid form of flesh to encase her soul, so that she might experience the world of gods and mortals. In her new form of existence, Saskia met with new feeling and sensations, that before she had only felt pale shadows of.
